A Future Where People, Nature, and Opportunity Thrive Together.

About Us

The Environmental Management and Livelihood Initiative (EMLI) is a non-governmental organization headquartered in Cameroon, dedicated to harmonizing ecosystem preservation with human advancement. Born out of a commitment to sustainable development, EMLI operates at the critical intersection of environmental stewardship, rural prosperity, public health, and social equity.

Our Pillars of Impact

Environment

We safeguard biodiversity and protect vital ecosystems through community-led conservation initiatives. Our work expands access to clean water and improved sanitation while promoting menstrual hygiene management, ensuring healthier lives and more resilient communities that thrive in harmony with nature.

Agriculture

We strengthen food security by equipping farmers with sustainable, climate-smart agricultural practices. By fostering diversified livelihoods and resilient farming systems, we empower rural households to increase productivity, adapt to climate change, and achieve lasting prosperity.

Health

We improve access to quality healthcare in underserved areas, advance preventive public health measures, and champion sexual and reproductive health and rights. Through education, outreach, and partnerships, we help communities build healthier and more dignified futures.

Education

We expand opportunities for quality, inclusive education for children, youth, and adults who face barriers to learning. By supporting equitable access to knowledge and skills development, we enable individuals and communities to unlock their full potential and drive sustainable progress.

EMLI Partners

EMLI works with a wide variety of partners to achieve its humanitarian and development objectives. We have long-standing relationships with institutional funders including the Governments of Cameroon, the UK and USA, as well as the European Union and United Nations.
