A Message from Our Board’s Chairperson - Anu Agendia

I am deeply honoured to serve as Chairperson of the Environmental Management and Livelihood Initiative (EMLI), a dynamic organisation committed to transforming lives and building resilient communities across Cameroon and beyond. Since our founding, EMLI has remained steadfast in its mission to empower vulnerable populations through sustainable agriculture, improved WASH services, environmental stewardship, and economic opportunity.

Today, as we face mounting global challenges—from climate change to rising poverty and displacement—the work of organisations like EMLI is more vital than ever. We believe that true development is rooted in inclusion, dignity, and sustainability, and we are proud to advocate for a world where no one is left behind.

The Board, all of whom are non-executive directors, is collectively responsible for leading and directing EMLI’s activities.

Anu Agendia Fuotulah

Board Chairperson

Anu Agendia is the Board Chairperson and member of the finance, audit and risk committee. He is a senior logistics and supply chain management executive with over 10 years of experience directing complex operational networks and distribution systems within Central Africa. He holds a Master’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the Catholic University of Central Africa. Throughout his career, he has successfully designed and executed large-scale material transit and asset-tracking frameworks for regional distribution hubs, bringing elite risk management, operational efficiency, and rigid internal control oversight to EMLI’s multi-sector program governance.

Abit Ruth Mbaku

Board Treasurer – Head of Finance, Audit and Risk Committee

Abit Ruth serves as EMLI’s board treasurer and head of the Finance, Audit and Risk committee. She is a seasoned banking and corporate finance professional with over a decade of experience in financial risk assessment, portfolio management, and liquidity tracking within Cameroon's financial sector. She holds a Master’s Degree in Banking and Finance from the Higher Institute of management Science. Her corporate expertise ensures that EMLI’s multi-grant systems, asset allocations, and financial control frameworks are managed with absolute institutional transparency and meet the highest global fiduciary standards.

Njong Nya Nadia Keng

Board Member

Nadia is an innovative technology systems director with 8 years of corporate and humanitarian experience deploying off-grid engineering solutions in Central Africa. She holds a Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy Engineering and Information Systems. Throughout her career, she has technically executed several rural electrification projects that deployed solar-powered mini-grids to power educational centres in rural communities. She is a member of the Technical Programs and Quality Assurance Committee.

Prof. Yinda Sendze

Board Member – Head of Technical Programs and Quality Assurance Committee

Yinda is an accomplished academic and researcher with over 14 years of experience specializing in biodiversity preservation and tropical forest ecology. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences and currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Buea and National Institute of Forestry and Wildlife in Cameroon. He has published pioneering, peer-reviewed field research on the conservation of endangered endemic species in the volcanic zones of Mount Cameroon, as well Mount Kupe and Mount Oku.

Besong Emmanuel Ayamba

Board Member (Climate-Smart Agriculture)

Besong a highly respected Senior Agricultural Engineer with over 10 years of technical field experience spanning food security infrastructure and rural agronomic extension. He holds an engineering degree from the Faculty of Agronomy and Agricultural Sciences (FASA) at the University of Dschang and MSc in Agriculture from the University of Reading, UK, through the Chevening Scholarship program. He has successfully introduced large-scale sustainable agroforestry and soil-restoration frameworks to smallholder farming cooperatives across the Northwest and Southwest regions. He is a member of the Technical Programs and Quality Assurance Committee

Tembeng Fritz Chick

Board Secretary

Fritz is a distinguished medical professional and community epidemiologist with more than a decade of experience managing rural healthcare delivery and health systems strengthening in Cameroon. He holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. As the District Medical Officer for Pouma Health District, he has designed a regional maternal healthcare access mapping model that successfully reduced infant mortality metrics across several underserved communities. His expertise has been very instrumental in her oversight of EMLI’s reproductive health and SRHR portfolio. He is a member of the Safeguarding, HR, & Protection Committee.

Agbor Lydia Eneke

Board Member - Head of the Safeguarding, HR, & Protection Committee

Lydia is a seasoned human resource executive with over 11 years of experience directing organizational culture, employment compliance, and safeguarding policies within international non-governmental organizations. She holds a Master’s Degree in Peace, Conflict and Security, from the University of Buea, Cameroon. A prominent milestone in her career is the establishment and monitoring of the national PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) whistleblower mechanism that safely protected thousands of project beneficiaries, making her the leading custodian of EMLI’s internal workplace compliance.
